How the hunt works

Missouri's Department of Conservation limits daily parties on its intensively managed wetlands through a statewide reservation and morning-draw system.

Pre-season application
Apply online Sept. 1–18 for up to three managed areas. Results are posted Oct. 1. You must be a Missouri resident with a conservation ID number.

Weekly in-season draw
Registration opens each Tuesday at 12:01 a.m. and closes the following Monday at 3 p.m. The draw runs Monday at 4 p.m. for the coming week.

Morning draw
About half of each day’s hunting positions are held for hunters who show up for the on-site morning drawing, no reservation required.

On the hunt
Maximum party size is four (except during youth season). Reservation holders and morning-draw hunters pick blinds/pools in draw order.
